Like so many who have retired and gone before us, we have chosen to live full time aboard our 38 foot Itasca Suncruiser (our "Mobile Mansion") we have fondly named "Sunny." Why?.....well, why not! Since our retirement on May 19, 2007 we feel like we have been on a very long vacation. Imagine ..... every day is Saturday!
While this lifestyle may not be for everyone, we have taken to it like Labradors to water. Our home on wheels allows us to wake up at the beach, desert, mountains, or just about any place with an access road. Imagine sleeping in your own bed, only to open the curtains and realize your yard is now in a different state surrounded by beautiful landscape that you are not responsible for maintaining. What a concept!
While San Diego is our base camp, we took a 5 week trip to Albuquerque for the "International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta." This is definitely something that should be on everyone's "bucket list!" It was amazing!
May 16, 2007: This blog is my retirement gift to the wonderful Robi (and her equally wonderful husband, Bob). As they trip the light fandango and leave us to our fate of being merely increasingly smaller images in their rear-view mirror, a way to stay in touch and up-to-date was an obvious necessity. It is my hope that while we may not get the pleasure of their company every single day, we will still enjoy the warmth of their continued friendship.
Robi, you are a diamond in a sea of cubic zirconia and I shall miss you beyond my ability to express. Eugene F Ware said, "All glory comes from daring to begin." Your courage and your daring inspire me, and all glory which comes to you will be richly deserved. G-dspeed, my friend, I love you.
With hugs, kisses, and big squishy love,
JODI
